Cole is running on the following issues:

IMPROVING PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

Harrisburg’s bus transit needs more routes, stops, access, and consistency for riders. The city also needs additional bike lanes and public bike share locations, not just in downtown and midtown. This also includes narrowing and enlarging lanes, and creating oversight for towing companies.

TACKLING BLIGHTED PROPERTIES

It’s time to finally take on blight by cracking down on slum landlords and absentee property owners. We can increase property values, lower crime, and bring in new businesses. We need real action, not more excuses. This includes:

  • Updating codes and ordinances

  • Work with county officials to start back up the land bank

  • Cracking down on ghost ownership.

ACCOUNTABILITY IN CITY GOVERNMENT

Potholes go unfilled, calls go unanswered, problems go unsolved. Harrisburg needs oversight, starting with an independent performance review of all departments and a constituency management system to improve responsiveness and delivery of services to residents.

SAFE SPACES AND PLACES FOR OUR YOUTH

If everyone agrees that we need more safe spaces and places for our youth, what's holding us back? Let's leave the politics at the door and create a truly inclusive model for after-school and mentoring programs by making it easier for non-profits and

businesses to be part of the solution.
